Charlotte Perriand was a French designer and architect who graduated from the l’école de l’union centrale des arts décoratifs (Central Union School of Decorative Arts).  Pioneer in design, she worked as a partner alongside Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret.

A naturally independent committed creator who rebelled against the academism of the salons, Charlotte Perriand was an inquisitive traveller attracted to foreign culture (Indochina, Brazil, India, Japan...).

Her designs were to profoundly the French way of life in the 1950's.
