Family mansion/swimming pool
Swimming pool available during your stay at our maison d'hôtes
After several months of renovation work, l’Esprit du 8 has become one of those places it feels good to be in. Come and discover this mansion with both mosaic and antique parquet flooring, marble fireplaces in the ground floor salons and upstairs bedrooms. This family abode has an unusual history behind it having been built in 1856 by the Rochefort town architect Alphonse Bourgeat as a replacement for the former local government (sub-prefecture) offices located in the rue Cochon Duvivier considered to be too small. We welcome you to this dwelling steeped in history which was for 150 years the sub-prefecture of Rochefort sur Mer.
The house has its own 5 x 10 m swimming pool (heated from 15th May-15th September). Young children remain under their parents' responsibility. Beach towels are made available when using the swimming pool. You can relax at the water's edge on the sunbeds or enjoy a drink on the patio.
